On Christmas Eve, 2001 Mike and I got married (read: "eloped") at the Marin County Courthouse. Mike's daughter Hannah, who was 8 years old at the time, was one of our witnesses. She was just learning to write her name in cursive, and signed it "Hannah"... the court clerk whispered to her "you need to write your last name too!!", "Oh!" she whispered back, and promptly signed her last name in her finest cursive writing as well. To this day we always spend our Christmas eves together, and today will be no different. Merry Christmas!
